How is Sugaring different from waxing?

The application of Sugar and wax are also opposite to each other. Sugar is applied against the hair growth and removed with the hair growth. This leads to less pain, less irritation, and longer-lasting results

Does Sugaring hurt?

70 percent of THEBAREBASE users say that sugaring hurts way lesser than they imagined

Remember, we’re talking about removing hair directly from the hair follicle. All you feel is a slight discomfort once your strip is removed (lasts for just 3-5 seconds) which is to be expected. But as you consistently sugar, your hair grows back thinner and softer and the pain decreases with each sugaring session.

Can you sugar your face and brows?

Yes you can

How do I reuse my strip?

You just soak your strip in water until it melts away, you then wash and dry.

Can I sugar my underarms?

Yes you can

How do I re-soften my sugar wax?

All you need to do is put your sugaring paste in the microwave for about a minute and it’s ready to use (make sure to do a patch test so it’s not too hot). OR you can put in your jar in already boiled water for 5 minutes and cover.

Is it normal to have skin irritation after sugaring?

If you have a more sensitive skin, avoid applying other products on the area you just sugared for at least 24 hours, this is because sugaring opens up your pores so it’s easy for them to get irritated.

We have a list of what to avoid after sugaring on our packaging

Is sugar wax good enough for sensitive skin?

Yes it is, it strictly adheres to just your hair do you are good.

I got little bumps /redness is this normal?

It is completely normal

Small Bumps Are a Normal Reaction (especially for those with sensitive skin) sugaring may irritate the skin, which can result in a mild reaction called folliculitis. This appears in the form of a bumpy rash that shows up after hair removal.

To treat the irritation, apply a cold compress to the sugared area and then applying our aloe aftercare gel which soothes and calms your skin immediately and will help relieve irritation and reduce redness. As you continue sugaring your skin begins to adjust to the process.

My sugar wax isn’t working, what should I do?

Your hair may be too short or your skin isn’t dry enough, or your hair is growing in different directions so we advise your hair should be at least 1/4 to 1/2 an inch (about the length of a grain of rice). You can also go over the same spot in different directions if the hair is growing in different directions.

To prevent or lessen hairs being left behind, try to slowly mold your sugar paste on your skin a couple more times before then putting your strip, this would help your paste stick more to your hair.

Always remember to dry any excess moisture (Use our Prepping Powder), oil or lotion that can hinder the Paste from attaching to the hair. Sugar with clean, dry skin for best results.

Remember you’d need to know sugaring takes a bit of practice to find what works for you so please be.

How many uses can I get out of a jar?

You can expect one jar to cover either 4x Both Legs, 5x Both Arms, 8x Both Underarms, 10x Both Feet, or 10x Both Hands.

Can I sugar my bikini area?

Ensure you trim your hair if it is longer than 1/4 to 1/2 (length of a grain of rice)!!
